Just Do It – Don’t Ask Permission…

Leaders need to lead – not make decisions for their direct reports.   Leaders are supposed to grow people, not do their work for them.

When someone comes to you to ask permission, or to get your opinion – teach them to ask themselves these 5 questions before they email or message you, let alone before they walk to your desk…

  • Is it right for the customer?
  • Is it right for our company?
  • Is it ethical?
  • Is it something for which you’re willing to be accountable?
  • Is it consistent with our Core Values ?

If the answer is yes to all five – then do it – don’t ask my opinion or permission…
